We hope everyone got a chance to eat some muffins and spend a little extra time with your children this morning. From all of us at Rice Children’s Campus, we want to wish you a very “Happy Mother’s Day” and hope that Sunday is a special day for each and every one of you!
Earth Day
Today we are celebrating Earth Day at Rice Children’s Campus!! It is important to teach our children about the influence we have on the limited resources from our planet. You might have seen our friend, Mr. Robby, who was made by the Two’s. His mission is to save plant Earth and he has some great tips on how to raise awareness. Some of the ways include picking up trash on the playground, recycling garbage at home, or planting a tree!! Look for him next time you are in the halls and read all about ways you can help him!!

Group Pictures in the Arts Garden
The Arts Garden is complete just in time for group pictures!! We will be taking pictures on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. All photos will be taken as soon as the entire class has arrived and parents may purchase a framed copy of their child’s class for $10. Prints will be available the week of March 25th. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday - Toddlers and Twos
Thursday - Nursery I, Nursery II, and Transition
Friday - Primary I and II
Daylight Savings Time
It’s that time of year again! Daylight Savings Time is scheduled for this Sunday, March 10th. Please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour!
PLEASE NOTE: Getting an extra hour of daylight in the evening is sometimes a hard adjustment for children. Their bodies and minds need a couple of weeks to adjust to the darker mornings and lighter evenings. It is harder to get them to sleep at their usual bedtimes until they become accustomed to this change. Keeping routines consistent can be very helpful for both you and your child.
Early Childhood Day at the Capitol
Do you know what day it is? It’s “Early Childhood Day” at the Texas State Capitol! The Texas Association for the Education of Young Children and other early childhood advocates are gathering to listen to legislators and community leaders on their visions for Early Education and the State of Texas. The past president of TAEYC is our Metropolitan Montessori Schools Business Development Manager, Mr. Aaron Carrara, who is representing our school in Austin today. For more information, visit their website or contact them on Facebook!
